Urea Agar

Description:
Urea Agar is a differential medium used to detect the enzyme urease, produced by certain bacteria. It is especially used for the identification of Proteus, Helicobacter, Klebsiella, and some Yersinia species, which rapidly hydrolyze urea into ammonia and carbon dioxide. The resulting pH increase changes the color of the medium, providing a clear visual test result.
