EDTA 0.02N (0.01M) Solution

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) 0.02N (0.01M) is a chelating solution used in complexometric titrations, especially for determination of metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, and other divalent/trivalent cations.

Formula / Strength

• Molar mass (disodium EDTA·2H₂O): 372.24 g/mol

• 0.01M = 3.72 g/L (approx. 3.7 g EDTA disodium salt per litre distilled water)

• Normality (N): Since EDTA reacts 1:1 with metal ions, 0.01M = 0.02N in terms of equivalent metal ion binding.

Appearance

• Clear, colourless to slightly cloudy solution.
